Tottenham Hotspur lead the league for corners on 7.9 a game, and that number looks like proof of a side that camps in the opposition half wherever it plays. Split it by venue and it stops looking that way. At home Spurs take 9.6 a game. Away, they take 5.8. The best away corner sides in the division are somewhere else entirely. The full table is on the Premier League corner stats for 2026/2027 page; this piece is about what the home and away columns say.
Chelsea and Manchester City are level at the top of the away list on 6.5 a game, from four away matches each. Manchester United follow on 6.4. All three sit above the competition average of 4.8 a game.
Everything here covers the 89 Premier League matches played in 2026/2027 at the time of writing, with each team on nine games, of which four or five are home or away depending on the club. Those are small samples, and we flag them where they matter.
Across the 89 matches played so far, Premier League teams have taken 4.8 corners a game on average, and 34% of matches have cleared 5.5. That is down from 5.0 a game in 2025/2026, which you can check against last season's corner averages.
Home sides do take more. They average 5.1 a game against 4.6 for the away side, a gap of 0.5 a game, or 11% more. That is the league-wide edge from playing at home.
A gap of half a corner a game is small, which is why the team-level splits are worth reading. If every club followed the league pattern, the home and away columns would differ by roughly that much and the venue would tell you little. Several clubs are nowhere near the pattern, in both directions, and Tottenham are the most extreme case.
Tottenham Hotspur's team page shows the headline: 7.9 corners a game from nine matches, the highest in the league, with more than 5.5 in 56% of them. The split behind it is stark. Five home matches have produced 9.6 corners a game, the most at home in the league. The away games, 5.8 a game, are still above the league's away average of 4.6, but they are not the figure that puts Spurs top.
Arsenal are next on the home list at 6.8 a game. Arsenal show the opposite shape to the away leaders: 6.8 at home, 4.4 away.

| Team | Overall | Home | Away |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tottenham Hotspur | 7.9 | 9.6 | 5.8 |
| Arsenal | 5.4 | 6.8 | 4.4 |
The most extreme single game in the data is Tottenham's 19 corners against Crystal Palace, more than any side has managed in a match this season. The full picture of that fixture is on the Spurs against Palace head to head page.
It also sits in a home-heavy record. Spurs have cleared 5.5 corners in 60% of their home games, against 56% across all nine matches. One 19-corner game pulls a five-match home average up sharply, so the 9.6 should be read with that in mind.
Spurs average 7.9 a game overall, but only the home half of that record sits near 8 or above. The away half, at 5.8, is lower than the away figures for Chelsea and Manchester City (6.5 each) and Manchester United (6.4). On the road, Spurs rank behind all three.
Crystal Palace show the other side of that fixture. Palace average 3.2 corners a game, the second-lowest in the league, but 5.0 at home and only 1.8 away. Their overall number hides a split as wide as Tottenham's, just from a much lower base.
Chelsea and Manchester City are level on 6.5 corners a game away from home, from four away matches each, against the competition average of 4.8. Both take fewer at home: Chelsea 5.4, City 5.6. In both cases the away number is higher than the home one.
Four matches is a small sample, and one big game moves an average of that size a long way. The pattern is worth knowing, but it is early.
The table below shows home and away corners for the twelve teams in the data.
Corners taken per match, 2026/2027, nine games each at the time of writing.
| Team | Home | Away | Overall |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tottenham Hotspur | 9.6 | 5.8 | 7.9 |
| Fulham | 6.5 | 6.0 | 6.2 |
| Manchester United | 5.8 | 6.4 | 6.1 |
| Manchester City | 5.6 | 6.5 | 6.0 |
| Chelsea | 5.4 | 6.5 | 5.9 |
| Arsenal | 6.8 | 4.4 | 5.4 |
| Liverpool | 4.8 | 5.5 | 5.1 |
| Brighton & Hove Albion | 6.3 | 3.8 | 4.9 |
| Everton | 4.3 | 5.4 | 4.9 |
| Nottingham Forest | 4.8 | 4.6 | 4.7 |
| AFC Bournemouth | 4.8 | 4.3 | 4.6 |
| Newcastle United | 3.6 | 5.5 | 4.4 |
Manchester United are next on the away list on 6.4 a game, ahead of their 5.8 at home. Liverpool take 5.5 away against 4.8 at home.
Of the twelve teams in the table, six take more corners away than at home: Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Everton and Newcastle United.
The biggest swing towards the away side belongs to Newcastle United, who take 5.5 corners a game away and 3.6 at home. Everton show the same direction, 5.4 away against 4.3 at home.
Neither side clears 5.5 corners often overall, though. Newcastle do it in 22% of their matches and Everton in 33%, so a decent away average does not turn into frequent big totals for either of them.
Manchester City have gone over 5.5 corners in 78% of their matches, the highest rate in the league. Fulham are next on 67%. City's average is 6.0 a game, well below Tottenham's 7.9, so the highest average is not the most consistent side for a 5.5 line. Spurs clear it in 56% of games, level with Manchester United.
Chelsea show the same disconnect from a different direction. They average 5.9 a game but clear 5.5 in only 44% of matches. The average is lifted by a few high-corner games rather than by a steady level.
The over and under rates for each team run from over 3.5 to over 7.5, and the table below picks out five of the sides discussed here. For other filters, the Premier League streaks page tracks current runs, and the Premier League betting predictions page covers match-by-match numbers. These are rates from nine matches, not a promise of what comes next.
Share of each team's nine matches above each line, 2026/2027, at the time of writing.
| Team | Over 3.5 | Over 4.5 | Over 5.5 | Over 6.5 | Over 7.5 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tottenham Hotspur | 89% | 67% | 56% | 44% | 44% |
| Fulham | 89% | 78% | 67% | 44% | 22% |
| Manchester City | 89% | 78% | 78% | 44% | 22% |
| Chelsea | 78% | 44% | 44% | 44% | 33% |
| Arsenal | 78% | 56% | 44% | 22% | 22% |
City's 78% rate is seven matches out of nine. It is also 78% at over 4.5, so every match that cleared 4.5 also cleared 5.5. They are at 44% over 6.5 and 22% over 7.5, which says City produce a steady stream of mid-range totals rather than many very high ones.
Tottenham are the mirror image at the top end. They are on 44% for both over 6.5 and over 7.5, so when Spurs get past 6.5 they usually get past 7.5 as well.
Arsenal average 5.4 a game, above the league's 4.8, yet clear 5.5 in 44% of matches. Fulham average 6.2 and clear 5.5 in 67%. A lower average with a better rate, and a higher average with a worse one, are both in the table, which is why the rate columns are worth checking alongside the headline.
Ipswich Town take 2.9 corners a game from nine matches and have not cleared 5.5 in any of them. Crystal Palace are next on 3.2.
Ipswich are also one of the few sides whose away number, 3.4, is higher than their home number, 2.3. Their 33% rate for over 3.5 and 0% for over 4.5 show how rarely they produce a match with many corners at all.
Check whether a team's corners are a home or an away habit before leaning on its headline average. Spurs at 7.9 is a home figure, at 9.6, and an away one at 5.8. Chelsea and Manchester City at 5.9 and 6.0 overall hide away numbers of 6.5 each.
Then check the rate as well as the average. Manchester City clear 5.5 in 78% of matches on a 6.0 average, while Chelsea clear it in 44% on 5.9.
All of this rests on nine matches per team, four or five of them at each venue, so treat each split as a pattern to watch rather than a settled fact. The numbers will move as the season goes on. For every club's home, away and over-under figures, see every team's corner numbers on the Premier League corners page.
