Five 2026 NFL categories are tied at the top, from sacks (7.5) to field goals (19). See who leads outright and who is sharing the lead.
Which 2026 NFL leads are outright and which are shared?
At the time of writing, through Week 8, the 2026 NFL leaderboard splits cleanly in two. Nine categories have one outright leader: passing yards (Jordan Love, 2,246), passing touchdowns (Joe Burrow, 20), rushing yards (Bijan Robinson, 780), rushing touchdowns (D'Andre Swift, 10), receiving yards (Jaxon Smith-Njigba, 985), receptions (Trey McBride, 66), receiving touchdowns (Smith-Njigba, 9), tackles (Alex Singleton, 101) and interceptions (Amani Hooker, 5).
Five are tied at the top: total touchdowns, sacks, forced fumbles, pick sixes and field goals. The 2026 NFL leaders on Statz show every category as a ranked list, and the split matters. An outright lead is a number a rival has to beat; a shared lead is one play from changing hands.
The outright leaders table
| Category | Leader | Team | Figure |
|---|---|---|---|
| Passing yards | Jordan Love | GB | 2,246 |
| Passing touchdowns | Joe Burrow | CIN | 20 |
| Rushing yards | Bijan Robinson | ATL | 780 |
| Rushing touchdowns | D'Andre Swift | CHI | 10 |
| Receiving yards | Jaxon Smith-Njigba | SEA | 985 |
| Receptions | Trey McBride | ARI | 66 |
| Receiving touchdowns | Jaxon Smith-Njigba | SEA | 9 |
| Tackles | Alex Singleton | DEN | 101 |
| Interceptions | Amani Hooker | TEN | 5 |
Every one of these comes with a full top-50 behind it: the full ranked list for every category shows the team and position for each player.
Passing leaders
Two different quarterbacks lead the two passing categories. Jordan Love of the Green Bay Packers has the most passing yards with 2,246, while Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals has the most passing touchdowns with 20. Yardage and touchdowns are not the same ranking, and in 2026 they point at different players.
Rushing and receiving leaders
The same split runs through the ground game. Bijan Robinson of the Atlanta Falcons leads rushing yards with 780, while D'Andre Swift of the Chicago Bears leads rushing touchdowns with 10. In the receiving numbers Jaxon Smith-Njigba of the Seattle Seahawks owns two categories outright, 985 receiving yards and 9 receiving touchdowns, while Trey McBride of the Arizona Cardinals leads receptions with 66. Volume and yardage are not the same player: the man who catches the most passes is not the one who gains the most yards.
Where the 2026 races are tied at the top
Five categories have more than one name on top. You can filter the leaders by passing, rushing, receiving, defense or kicking to see each board, with the tied players listed side by side.
| Category | Shared figure | Co-leaders |
|---|---|---|
| Total touchdowns | 10 | Jahmyr Gibbs (DET), D'Andre Swift (CHI) |
| Sacks | 7.5 | T.J. Watt (PIT), Will Anderson Jr. (HOU) |
| Forced fumbles | 4 | Fred Warner (SF), Quincy Williams (CLE), Troy Dye (LAC) |
| Pick sixes | 1 | T.J. Watt (PIT), Josiah Trotter (TB), Devin Lloyd (CAR), Deonte Banks (NYG), Kain Medrano (WSH), Talanoa Hufanga (DEN), Rayuan Lane III (JAX) |
| Field goals made | 19 | Chase McLaughlin (TB), Spencer Shrader (IND), Chad Ryland (ARI) |
Sacks and forced fumbles
T.J. Watt of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Will Anderson Jr. of the Houston Texans share the sack lead on 7.5 each. Three players share the forced fumble lead on 4: Fred Warner of the San Francisco 49ers, Quincy Williams of the Cleveland Browns and Troy Dye of the Los Angeles Chargers. These are the kind of numbers that move on a single snap, because one sack or one strip changes the picture.
Pick sixes and field goals
The pick six race is the widest tie on the board: seven players have one each, Watt among them, which also makes him one of the few players with a stake in two tied categories, sacks and pick sixes. Josiah Trotter of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Devin Lloyd of the Carolina Panthers, Deonte Banks of the New York Giants, Kain Medrano of the Washington Commanders, Talanoa Hufanga of the Denver Broncos and Rayuan Lane III of the Jacksonville Jaguars complete the seven. In kicking, Chase McLaughlin of the Buccaneers, Spencer Shrader of the Indianapolis Colts and Chad Ryland of the Cardinals share the field goal lead on 19. The touchdown tie is smaller: Jahmyr Gibbs of the Detroit Lions and D'Andre Swift both have 10, and Swift is the only player on top of two boards, outright in rushing touchdowns and shared in total touchdowns.
Tackles and interceptions: the defensive leads with daylight
Set against the tied sack, forced fumble and pick six races, two defensive categories each have a single name on top. Alex Singleton of the Denver Broncos leads tackles with 101, and Amani Hooker of the Tennessee Titans leads interceptions with 5. Nobody is sharing either number at the time of writing, which makes them the most settled defensive leads in the 2026 data.
Which teams show up most among the 2026 leaders?
Counting every category where a team has a player on top, outright or shared, six teams appear twice and none appears more than twice. This is a reading of who holds the leads, not a ranking of the teams.
| Team | Leader slots | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Chicago Bears | 2 | Swift: rushing touchdowns (outright), total touchdowns (shared with Gibbs) |
| Seattle Seahawks | 2 | Smith-Njigba: receiving yards, receiving touchdowns (both outright) |
| Pittsburgh Steelers | 2 | Watt: sacks (shared), pick sixes (shared) |
| Tampa Bay Buccaneers | 2 | McLaughlin: field goals (shared); Trotter: pick sixes (shared) |
| Arizona Cardinals | 2 | McBride: receptions (outright); Ryland: field goals (shared) |
| Denver Broncos | 2 | Singleton: tackles (outright); Hufanga: pick sixes (shared) |
Chicago and Seattle get there through one player each, Swift and Smith-Njigba. Pittsburgh does it through Watt alone. Tampa Bay, Arizona and Denver each have two different players on top of a board, one outright or shared kicker, receiver or defender alongside another.
