Four NFL players cleared 5+ receptions in all of their last 5 games, out of 36 who hit it 60% of the time. Who they are and what the figures mean.
Four players, five games, five catches every time
At the time of writing, four NFL players have cleared 5+ receptions in every one of their last 5 games: Puka Nacua, Malik Nabers, Trey McBride and Jaxon Smith-Njigba. That is 5 of 5, a 100% hit rate, on the line most receiving props are built around. CeeDee Lamb is one of several players a game behind at 4 of 5 (80%).
The figures come from the NFL Stat Finder, which searches every player's recent games for a stat and a line and ranks who cleared it most often. Here the stat is receptions, the line is 5+ and the look-back is the last 5 games. A hit rate is the share of those games in which a player cleared the line, so 5 of 5 is 100% and 4 of 5 is 80%.
A 100% hit rate sounds like a lock. It is not, and this article shows why: how few players reach it, what the figure can and cannot tell you, and how to run the same search for a different stat or line.
How rare is a perfect hit rate? 36 players clear 60%, 4 clear 90%
From 36 players to 4
Set the filter at 60% and the Stat Finder finds 36 players who have hit 5+ receptions in at least 60% of their last 5 games. Raise it to 90% and only 4 of those 36 remain. The funnel is steep, which is the point: a perfect streak is rare even among players who catch the ball regularly.
| Filter on the last 5 games | Players who clear 5+ receptions |
|---|---|
| 60% or more | 36 |
| 90% or more | 4 |
What the 90%+ club actually means
The 90%+ club is the set of players who cleared the line in at least nine of every ten games searched. On a 5-game window that arithmetic leaves no room for a miss: 4 of 5 is 80%, so the only way to reach 90% is 5 of 5. The four perfect players are therefore the whole club here, and no more are hiding in the 36.
The 5+ receptions leaders, player by player
| Player | Games hit (5+ receptions) | Games searched | Hit rate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Puka Nacua | 5 | 5 | 100% |
| Malik Nabers | 5 | 5 | 100% |
| Trey McBride | 5 | 5 | 100% |
| Jaxon Smith-Njigba | 5 | 5 | 100% |
| CeeDee Lamb | 4 | 5 | 80% |
That is the top of the list. The full board of player prop hit rates goes further down and also shows each player's average and next opponent, which this table leaves out. For the same idea over whole seasons, the hit rates page and the streaks page are the neighbours worth a look.
Why a hit rate is a starting point, not a verdict
Window length changes the picture
Five games is a small sample. Nacua, Nabers, McBride and Smith-Njigba are 5 of 5, and Lamb is 4 of 5, but one different game in either direction would move those figures. A hit rate tells you what has happened lately, not what the next game will do, and it says nothing about price: a line that every player clears is only worth a bet if the odds still leave a margin.
The line matters as much as the player
The result also depends entirely on the line. At 5+ receptions the search finds 36 players at 60% or more and 4 at 90% or more; change the threshold to a different number, or the stat to rushing yards, and a different set qualifies. You can change the line or the number of games in the filters and see the board re-rank straight away, which is the quickest way to check whether a streak survives a longer look-back.
Run the same search for other props
Rushing, passing, defence, kicking and fantasy
Receptions are one example. The Stat Finder searches passing, rushing, receiving, combined, defence, kicking and fantasy statistics, each at any line. Other lines the page uses as examples are 60+ rushing yards and an anytime touchdown. The method is the same each time: pick the stat, set the line, choose how many games to look back over, and read the ranking.
Keeping to this week's slate
A streak is only useful if the player is in action. Switch on the slate filter and you can filter the board to this week's slate, which keeps only the players whose teams play in the week ahead.
