The market has Kansas City by ten, the model by 6.3, and the Jets at plus ten are a four-star price. The side, the receiver unders and the Chiefs' slip for Jets at Chiefs on Sunday.
Ten points at Arrowhead, and the model says six
Sunday's game at Arrowhead Stadium, open air on grass, kicks off at 6:00pm UK time, 1:00pm Eastern. Kansas City are 5-2, second in the AFC West and 4-2 in their last six, but have lost their last two, 20-3 to Seattle and 28-24 to Denver. The New York Jets are 2-6, third in the AFC East, 1-5 in their last six, and lost 38-33 to Las Vegas last week. The market has the Chiefs by ten at a total of 47.5; the model has them by 6.3 at 45.9. The game page has the full picture.
Kansas City have won both of the last two meetings, 23-20 in Week 4 of 2023 and 35-9 in Week 8 of 2020. They covered one of the two, and one went over and one under, at an average total of 43.5. This season the Chiefs allow 18.7 points a game, fourth, and 96.3 rushing yards, eighth, but have nine sacks, the fewest in the league. The Jets score 21.3 points a game, 25th, and allow 208.4 passing yards a game, sixth. The Chiefs rushing and Jets stats pages show where each side leans.
Where the game is won
The matchup grid gives Kansas City three of the four. The Jets passing against the Chiefs' pass defence is a 59% Chiefs edge, the Jets running a 68% Chiefs edge, and Kansas City running against New York a 70% Chiefs edge. The one the Jets hold is the Chiefs passing against the Jets' pass defence, at 52%, which is close to even. The model reads that as a run-led home win: Kenneth Walker III is projected at 22.6 carries, 103.0 rushing yards and 0.9 touchdowns, Patrick Mahomes at 236.7 passing yards and 1.5 touchdowns. Geno Smith is projected at 217.0 yards and 1.4 touchdowns.
The receiver reports are thin on both sides. For Kansas City, Travis Kelce (ankle), Rashee Rice (hamstring) and Nikko Remigio (hip) are questionable, cornerback Mansoor Delane (shoulder) and defensive tackle Peter Woods (neck) are questionable on defence, and Ethan Driskell and Tyreke Smith are out. For the Jets, Garrett Wilson is questionable with a concussion, Breece Hall with a quadricep, Mason Taylor with a back, and Irv Charles is out. Braelon Allen is projected at 10 carries to Hall's 9.2, so a Hall absence moves less than the headline suggests. The top Chiefs receiving projection is Rice's 46.6 yards, with Xavier Worthy at 44.7. Both depth charts are live and the injury table updates until kick-off.
The model's number
The model has Kansas City 26.1, the Jets 19.8, a 45.9 total, and the Chiefs winning 67.9 times in 100. The market has them by ten, so the two are 3.7 points apart on the side. The Jets plus 10.0 at 1.91 on Fanatics is a 56.6% call against 50.0% implied, four stars, a half-point bet, and the Chiefs minus 9.5 at 1.94 on Kalshi is 5.4 points the wrong way. The Jets on the moneyline at 5.40 on DraftKings is a 25.3% call against 17.8%, three stars, a quarter of a point; that card carries a lower figure than the headline 32.1% Jets chance, so it is the cautious reading. The total is a nearer thing. The model is 1.6 points below the 47.5 line, and the under at 48.5 and 1.90 on Polymarket is a 54.0% call against 52.6%, two stars: a lean, not a bet.
The case for the Chiefs is a fourth-ranked scoring defence at home against a Jets side that has lost five of six. The case for the Jets is that the model already gives Kansas City a 6.3-point win and the market asks for ten. Records against the number are on the Chiefs ATS and Jets ATS pages.

Scorers, props and the slips
The prop board is unders on the receivers. [Adonai Mitchell] under 55.5 receiving yards at 1.86 is projected at 32.1, a 64.4% call against 50.0%, five stars, and the under has hit in 60% of his last five and half of his last ten. Rashee [Rice] under 64.5 receiving yards at 1.86 is projected at 46.6, 64.4% against 50.0%, but he is questionable with a hamstring, so check the status and the book's rules before kick-off. [Emmett Johnson] under 12.5 rushing yards at 1.83, projected at 9.3, is the same Chiefs script in a smaller role.
The scorers give nothing. Kenneth Walker III at 1.43 is a 60.1% call against 69.9% implied, and Rice at 2.45 is 28.3% against 40.8%. The Single Game Parlays page has one slip, Workhorse Back, at 13.96: Walker over 2.5 receptions at 1.83, Walker over 124.5 rushing yards at 4.10, and Mahomes under 249.5 passing yards at 1.86. The model has it at 9.03% against 7.17% implied, a quarter of a point. It needs Walker 21.5 yards above his projection, which is a comfortable Chiefs win, and that sits against the Jets plus ten. The slip is a script and the Jets are a line: hold one view, not both.
- Adonai Mitchell under 55.5 receiving yards — WR, NYJ — at 1.86 — Projected 32.1 yards on 5.1 targets. Game preview
- Rashee Rice under 64.5 receiving yards — WR, KC — at 1.86 — Projected 46.6 yards. Questionable with a hamstring, so the stake stays small. Game preview
The verdict
The model has Kansas City winning by 6.3 and the market asking for ten, and the honest read is a Chiefs win that does not need to be a rout. A team that has lost its last two and has the fewest sacks in the league is not obviously a ten-point favourite. Half a point on the Jets plus ten, a quarter on the moneyline, and the receiver unders, with Rice sized down. The news to watch is Wilson's concussion, Kelce's ankle and Rice's hamstring.
