Orlando Magic injury report

Injury/Illness - Left Knee Injury Management (2026-11-01, BOS@ORL). Prior reporting (2026-10-29): Isaac (knee) is out for Friday's game in Toronto. Isaac holds no timetable for a return to an ongoing left knee injury. The oft-injured forward can be considered week-to-week until the Magic update his timeline.
Expected back 10 Nov

Injury/Illness - Left Ankle Injury Recovery (2026-11-01, BOS@ORL). Prior reporting (2026-09-28): Team president Jeff Weltman said Monday that Nelson (ankle) remains about a month away from returning to the court after offseason surgery, per Philip Rossman-Reich of OrlandoMagicDaily.com. With Nelson still in recovery mode from the left ankle surgery he underwent this summer, his path back to game action remains delayed for the early part of the season. The rookie big man is on a two-way contract with the Magic, so his short-term absence mainly affects his developmental timeline rather than Orlando's regular rotation.

Injury/Illness - Right Partially Torn Hamstring (2026-11-01, BOS@ORL). Prior reporting (2026-10-17): Penda was diagnosed with a partially torn right hamstring Saturday, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports. Penda suffered the hamstring tear in Friday's 136-115 preseason win over the Heat. It's unknown how long the injury will keep the 21-year-old off the floor. However, since it's a different injury than the one he suffered in the same hamstring during training camp, the team may take a cautious approach regarding his return. Penda, the No. 32 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, averaged 3.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists over 12.8 minutes per outing in 59 regular-season games in 2025-26. While he's not expected to be a mainstay in the rotation throughout the 2026-27 campaign, his absence could open up a few minutes for Tristan Da Silva.
Expected back 18 Nov

Injury/Illness - Right Low Grade High Ankle Sprain (2026-11-01, BOS@ORL). Prior reporting (2026-10-24): Banchero is expected to be sidelined for the next four-to-six weeks due to a right high-ankle sprain, Shams Charania of ESPN reports. Banchero left during Friday's loss against the Timberwolves due to an ankle injury, and follow-up tests have confirmed a high-ankle sprain for the fifth-year forward. With an extended absence expected, the Magic will have to rely more heavily on Franz Wagner and Desmond Bane offensively, and Tristan da Silva figures to be the top candidate to enter the Magic's starting lineup for as long as Banchero is sidelined.
Expected back 22 Nov

Injury/Illness - Right Knee Contusion / Bone Bruise (2026-11-01, BOS@ORL). Prior reporting (2026-10-26): Suggs has been diagnosed with a mild bone bruise in his right knee and will be re-evaluated in two weeks, Shams Charania of ESPN reports. Suggs suffered the injury during Sunday's win over the Knicks when his right knee buckled following a layup attempt. Fortunately, further testing revealed no major structural damage, though the 25-year-old will miss at least two weeks before being re-evaluated. Anthony Black and Jase Richardson could see increased opportunities in Orlando's backcourt during Suggs' absence.

Washington Wizards injury report

Injury/Illness - Left Hip Impingement (2026-11-02, WAS@ORL). Prior reporting (2026-10-01): The Wizards announced Thursday that Vukcevic (hip) will be re-evaluated in four weeks. Although the big man will remain a limited participant in training camp as he continues his rehab from a hip impingement, it sounds like his absence from game action will extend into the regular season. Deandre Ayton should have the backup center role all to himself until Vukcevic is cleared to retake the floor.
Expected back 2 Nov

Injury/Illness - Left ACL Repair / Surgery (2026-11-02, WAS@ORL). Prior reporting (2026-07-30): The Wizards announced Thursday that Watkins has undergone surgery for a torn ACL. Watkins, a two-way player for the Wizards, suffered the injury during the Summer League. Although Washington has yet to offer a timetable for a return, a typical recovery time for the procedure is approximately 9-to-12 months. That leaves Watkins in serious jeopardy of missing most, if not all, of the 2026-27 season, and it remains to be seen if the team will continue keeping him around on a two-way roster spot while he's injured.
Expected back 2 Apr

Injury/Illness - Right Foot Surgery (2026-11-02, WAS@ORL). Prior reporting (2026-10-28): Champagnie (foot) is expected to miss several months, per Josh Robbins of The Athletic. The forward underwent surgery Wednesday to address a fractured foot, and the Wizards hope Champagnie will be ready to return at some time around the All-Star break in February. The likes of Bilal Coulibaly, Tre Johnson and Bub Carrington will all be asked to help pick up the slack for the foreseeable future.
Expected back 25 Feb

Injury/Illness - Low Back Spasms (2026-11-02, WAS@ORL). Prior reporting (2026-11-01): Gill (back) is questionable to suit up in Monday's contest against Orlando. Gill is dealing with back spasms that will leave his status questionable versus the Magic. He's played a total of just one minute in 2026-27, so even if he's sidelined Monday, it won't have any impact on the rotation.
Expected back 2 Nov

Injury/Illness - Left Knee Soreness (2026-11-02, WAS@ORL). Prior reporting (2026-11-01): The Wizards exercised the fourth-year team option on Sarr on Tuesday, Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.com reports. Sarr was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. Since then, he has appeared in 121 regular-season games, averaging 14.1 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.7 blocks over 27.0 minutes per contest. Sarr seemingly has All-Star upside, though injuries have certainly slowed down his progression.
