One player out for the Lakers, three for Portland
Start with the Lakers, because there is almost nothing to report. Thiero is the only player on their list, and he is Out with a knee problem. The Lakers are 7-2 over their last nine games at the time of writing.
Portland's list is a different story. All three names are Out, and none of them is a short-term absence. The earliest return on the list is Morant on 1 Dec, then Krejci on 2 Jan, then Sharpe on 2 Mar. Two of the three are guards or wings who would normally be part of the rotation behind or beside the starters.
So the question for tomorrow is simple: how does a Portland team missing three players handle a Lakers team that is close to full strength? The Lakers' own numbers, covered below, give the answer in terms of who has to be stopped.
The two injury lists side by side
Here are both lists as the report has them, with the expected return dates. Note that the Lakers' only absentee is also the player with the earliest return date on the table, 6 Nov. Every Portland player is out for at least several weeks longer than that.
For the full list with return dates and player notes, the Lakers injury page carries both teams' lists and updates through the day. The league-wide view is on the NBA injuries page.
Lakers and Trail Blazers injury lists
Status and expected return as listed on Thursday 5 November at 1:40 AM ET
| Team | Player | Status | Expected back |
|---|---|---|---|
| Los Angeles Lakers | Adou Thiero | Out | 6 Nov |
| Portland Trail Blazers | Shaedon Sharpe | Out | 2 Mar |
| Portland Trail Blazers | Ja Morant | Out | 1 Dec |
| Portland Trail Blazers | Vit Krejci | Out | 2 Jan |
Adou Thiero: knee recovery and the G League assignment
Adou Thiero has not played a game for the Lakers this season, and the roster table shows no stats against his name. He is listed Out with a knee issue, and his expected return date is 6 Nov.
The Lakers assigned Thiero to the G League's Coachella Valley Lakers on Wednesday, per Khobi Price of The California Post. He is practicing with the G League club amid his knee recovery. The page notes he appears to be close to being cleared for his season debut with the Lakers.
He is the only name on the Lakers' list, so his status is the whole story of the team's injury situation.
Portland's absences: how long each one lasts
Portland's list has three different injuries and three different timelines. Here is each one, from the shortest to the longest.
The table below sums up the three, with the injury and the expected return date from the report.
Portland's injured players
Injury and expected return as given on the Lakers injury page
| Player | Injury | Status | Expected back |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ja Morant | Grade 2 left hamstring strain | Out | 1 Dec |
| Vit Krejci | Left leg fracture | Out | 2 Jan |
| Shaedon Sharpe | Torn meniscus in knee | Out | 2 Mar |
Shaedon Sharpe: out until after the All-Star break
Shaedon Sharpe has the longest absence on the list, with an expected return of 2 Mar. He is now likely to be sidelined until after the All-Star break. He had been ticketed for a reserve role behind Toumani Camara.
His 2025-26 campaign was injury-plagued, yet he averaged a career-high 20.8 points, 1.4 steals and 2.1 three-pointers per game over 50 regular-season appearances.
Ja Morant: Grade 2 left hamstring strain
Ja Morant has been diagnosed with a Grade 2 left hamstring strain and is expected to miss four weeks, Portland announced Friday. The report lists him back on 1 Dec.
He left a game early with the injury. The page says the star guard leaves a major void in the Trail Blazers' starting backcourt, one that figures to be filled by Jrue Holiday for the foreseeable future.
Vit Krejci: left leg fracture
Vit Krejci suffered a left leg fracture during Wednesday's 132-119 win over the Suns, head coach Micah Nori said, per Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.com. The report lists him back on 2 Jan.
Nori did not provide a timetable. The page says his minutes figure to be divvied up amongst Chris Youngblood and Sidy Cissoko.
What Portland face: the Lakers' healthy scorers
With Portland thin, the first job is the Lakers' top two. Luka Doncic is averaging 38.5 points, 8.1 rebounds and 8.0 assists in 35.7 minutes over 8 games. Austin Reaves is averaging 23.3 points in 35.9 minutes over 9 games, the most minutes on the team.
That also answers the Reaves question fans keep searching: he is not on the injury report and has played all 9 of the Lakers' games counted on the page.
Inside, Walker Kessler gives the Lakers a third scoring option and a presence on the glass: 14.4 points, 10.2 rebounds and 2.7 blocks a game, and he is shooting 71.8% from the field over 9 games. Doncic and Kessler lead the team in rebounds, with Kessler first and Doncic second.
The Lakers vs Trail Blazers game preview has the matchup detail for tomorrow's game.

Lakers depth with only one name on the report
With one injury, the Lakers' rotation is intact, and it goes deeper than the headline names. The next six scorers all average between 6.4 and 10.7 points, and they play real minutes.
Ziaire Williams leads that group with 10.7 points in 25.3 minutes over 6 games. Collin Sexton adds 9.8 in just 17.3 minutes over 8 games. Sandro Mamukelashvili gives 9.0 in 23.4 minutes, and Quentin Grimes gives 8.2 in 26.1.
On the wing, Matisse Thybulle is shooting 42.9% from three on his 8.0 points a game, and Jake LaRavia is shooting 58.8% from three on 6.4 points.
The Lakers depth chart shows how those minutes are spread, and the Lakers roster has every player's numbers. To see who is out for the Lakers today, the injury page is updated through the day.

The bottom line before tip-off
The Lakers are close to full strength with one player out. Portland are without three players, and none of them is back before 1 Dec. Statuses can change through the day, so it is worth a look at the Lakers vs Trail Blazers game preview and a final check of the Lakers injury report to check the latest status before tip-off.
Check the Lakers injury report before tomorrow's game against Portland and the picture is lopsided. The Los Angeles Lakers have one name on it, Adou Thiero, listed Out with an expected return of 6 Nov. The Portland Trail Blazers have three, all Out: Shaedon Sharpe, Ja Morant and Vit Krejci.
The report was last updated Thursday 5 November at 1:40 AM ET, and the statuses follow the official NBA injury report, so they can change through the day. What matters for this game is the gap in how long each absence lasts. Thiero's return date is tomorrow's date. Portland's three run from 1 Dec to 2 Mar.
That leaves the Lakers' stars on the floor and Portland short in the backcourt and on the wing. Below is who is out, how long each absence runs and what the Lakers will throw at a Portland side missing three players.
