Quick answers5 questions
What is on the NBA acca sheet?
One table per team market: the moneyline and the spread with a row for each team, the game total with a row for each game, and team totals with a row for each team.
How do I read Market, Statz and Edge?
Market is each book's price with its margin removed, averaged across the books quoting the line. Statz is the chance the team-first projection gives. On the moneyline and spread the edge is the team's own: positive means we rate the team above the market. On totals it is on the side we favour, over or under.
How are the first half and first quarter priced?
From the same game projection. Over a thousand games with closing lines, the first half has carried about half the points and a little over half the winning margin, and the first quarter about a quarter of each; we map the projected margin and total onto the period with those fitted rates and their spreads.
What does an estimated line mean?
Books post first-half and first-quarter lines, and most team totals, close to tip-off. Until they do, the row shows the line we expect, marked est.: the period's share of the full game's posted spread and total (a team total from the game total and spread), or our own projection where nothing is posted.
How are the hit rates counted?
Against today's line over each team's last five and ten regular-season games, using the period's own score from the quarter-by-quarter line: wins on the moneyline, covers on the spread, points scored on a team total, and both teams' game totals on a game total.
