Norwich City host Bolton Wanderers at 13:30 UK on Sunday 20 September at Carrow Road, with both sides arriving off defeats and from opposite ends of the goals table.
Norwich have been involved in more high-scoring matches than almost anyone in the Championship. Bolton have been involved in the fewest matches with goals at both ends of anyone at all.
Norwich City are sixth for goals scored at 1.86 a game and twenty-first for goals conceded at exactly the same figure, which is how a side ends up with 86 per cent of its matches clearing two and a half goals - fourth-highest in the division - and a clean-sheet rate of zero. They have not shut anyone out this season. The run reads 0-5 at Manchester City, a 4-3 defeat at Middlesbrough, 2-1 against Birmingham City, 3-1 at Sheffield United and a 1-0 defeat at Stoke.
Bolton Wanderers bring the lowest both-teams-to-score rate in the Championship at 43 per cent, twenty-fourth of twenty-four, and score 1.00 a game, nineteenth. Their matches tend to be one-way: 1-0 against Cardiff City, 3-2 down at Sheffield United, 0-4 at Millwall, 2-3 at home to West Ham United and 0-1 to Lincoln City. Team sheets are not confirmed.
The pattern holds at both ends of each club's season. Norwich City have scored in six of their seven league matches and conceded in all seven, which is the shape of a side that plays open football whether it is winning or losing. Bolton Wanderers have kept two clean sheets and lost by three or more twice, with very little in between - their matches resolve early and stay resolved.
The model projects 2.16 goals for Norwich City and 1.01 for Bolton Wanderers, the highest single-team projection on the Championship card this weekend. Both teams to score is rated at 57 per cent at 8/13, marginally above its price, and it is the only selection in the match that clears at all.
The rest prices short. Norwich to win at 2/5 is 63 per cent against a price implying 71, and over 2.5 goals at 4/9 is 62 against an implied 69. The market has read the same pattern in Norwich's matches that we have, and priced it fully.

The referee is Tom Nield, averaging 4 yellow cards and 23.33 fouls a game across three Championship matches. Norwich are the third most-carded side in the division at 2.86 a game, which is worth knowing before backing anything in that market.
S. Dalby has committed at least one foul in five straight games for Bolton Wanderers, the longest run in the fixture. Anthony Musaba has hit the target in four consecutive matches for Norwich and Ruben Rodrigues in three for Bolton.
Worth noting for the goals markets specifically: the reason Norwich clear two and a half so often is their defence rather than their attack. They are sixth for scoring but twenty-first for conceding, so the over has been landing on matches they do not control. Against the division's most one-sided side for goals at both ends, that is the assumption being tested.

Norwich City are much the stronger side here and the projection says so - 2.16 goals against 1.01 is the widest gap on the Championship card. The complication is that the market agrees, and has priced both the win and the goals beyond what the model supports.
The read is a comfortable Norwich win with goals in it. The honest addition is that there is very little value in backing it at these prices, which is a different question from whether it happens.
