The chase was built on a superb partnership between captain Shubman Gill and Jos Buttler. Gill made 56 off 40 (6×4, 1×6) before Prince Yadav found his edge, but by that point the game was decided. Buttler was the star – 60 off 37 balls, hitting 11 boundaries in a calculated knock that took GT to the brink of victory before Shami prised him out in the 16th over.

Washington Sundar (21* off 13) and Rahul Tewatia (10* off 8) wrapped it up with eight balls to spare. GT cruised home to a seven-wicket win with minimal fuss.

The Statz Ratings tell the story clearly. Prasidh Krishna tops the chart at 87.2 – a deserved match award for four wickets that changed the complexion of the game. Buttler (60.3) and Mohammed Siraj (52.5) are the next two, with Gill (47.5) and Mohammed Shami (43.5) completing the top five.

For LSG, Markram’s 31.7 was their best individual rating – a reminder that he did his job at the top before Krishna struck. The rest of the batting order struggled to impose themselves against a disciplined GT attack.

Verdict

Gujarat Titans were simply better on the day. Prasidh Krishna’s four-wicket haul set the tone and Buttler’s authoritative half-century did the rest. LSG’s batting, without a true anchor to build around after Pant fell cheaply, lacked the firepower to challenge a target-that-never-felt-enough kind of innings. GT look in solid shape – Gill is leading from the front, Rashid Khan gives them a unique weapon, and Prasidh Krishna is bowling like a man on a mission. LSG need a response quickly if they want to stay in the top four race.
