How Statz Rating works:
- Each player receives a contextual match impact score based on their all-round contribution — batting, bowling, and situational factors.
- Ratings are scaled against the season benchmark so they are directly comparable across fixtures and to the season leaderboard.
- A typical top performer scores around 100. Exceptional performances can exceed 100.

Heinrich Klaasen and Salil Arora staged a small recovery to 56/5 but both fell in the same over – Arora caught at 56/5 (9.4 overs) then Klaasen caught at 56/6 (10.1 overs). Nitish Kumar Reddy added just 2 (60/7) before Cummins struck 19 off 9 – hitting 2 sixes to take the score to 82/8 in 13.4 overs. The tail offered nothing and SRH were bowled out for 86.
Holder led the bowling attack with 3/20 from 4 overs (economy 5.00). Rabada took 3/28 from 4 overs. Prasidh Krishna chipped in with 2/23 from 3 overs, and Mohammed Siraj was miserly with 1/11 from 3 overs including a maiden. Rashid Khan needed only 5 balls to take 1/3.
Statz MVP: Pat Cummins (100.21)
Pat Cummins is the Statz MVP with a rating of 100.21. The SRH skipper bowled 4 tight overs for 1/20 (economy 5.00) in a match where most of his teammates conceded at 9-plus, then came in lower order and smashed 19 off 9 balls – 2 sixes – when the game was already lost. Statz calculates impact based on match context, and Cummins' dual contribution registers as the highest individual effort despite being on the losing side.
The official Man of the Match award went to Kagiso Rabada for his 3/28. Statz disagrees – Rabada rates 65.38 versus Cummins' 100.21. Holder (88.18) and Hinge (76.41) both sit between them in the Statz rankings.
Top 5 Statz Ratings
- Pat Cummins (SRH) – 100.21 – 1/20 (Econ 5.00) with the ball, 19 off 9 with the bat – the only SRH player to turn up in both phases
- Jason Holder (GT) – 88.18 – 3/20 (Econ 5.00) with the ball plus 11* off 10 – match-winning all-round display and top Dream11 scorer on 113 points
- Praful Hinge (SRH) – 76.41 – 2/17 (Econ 5.67) in the GT innings, the pick of the SRH bowling attack
- Sai Sudharsan (GT) – 65.72 – 61 off 44, anchored the GT innings and set the foundation for the match-winning total
- Washington Sundar (GT) – 64.45 – 50 off 33 (SR 152) in the back half of the innings, 7 fours and a six to accelerate GT past 160
Turning Point
Travis Head, bowled for 0 off 4 balls in over 0.4 of the second innings – caught off Kagiso Rabada with the score at 0/1. Head is SRH's most dangerous batter and his dismissal for a golden duck in the opening over effectively ended the contest. Abhishek Sharma followed in over 1.4 (6/2) and SRH never recovered from losing two wickets inside 10 balls of the chase.
Match Context
Gujarat Titans go to 1st in the IPL 2026 table with 16 points from 12 matches (W8 L4, NRR +0.551). Five wins on the bounce – this is a side hitting its peak at exactly the right time. With 18 matches played and 74 total in the regular season, the top four picture is becoming clear and GT are in the driving seat for home advantage in the playoffs.
Sunrisers Hyderabad remain 3rd on 14 points from 12 (W7 L5, NRR +0.331), level on points with RCB (2nd) but behind on net run rate. This result puts SRH's NRR under further pressure. They have games to play but cannot afford many more nights like this – dismissed for 86 inside 15 overs is the kind of collapse that hurts run rate badly. Their top order needs to find consistency before the business end arrives.
