The Statz Rankings are Statz's own list of the best golfers in the world right now. Instead of counting titles or tour points, we rank players on the Statz Index — a single number that reflects how well they've actually been scoring on the PGA Tour, with the most recent golf counting the most.
The OWGR rewards finishing positions and accumulates points over two years, so it can lag well behind a player's current level. The Statz Rankings are built to answer a different question — who is playing the best golf today — so a player on a hot run climbs quickly, and a slump shows up fast. That's why you'll often see our order disagree with the OWGR.
After every PGA Tour event. Each new round a player posts feeds straight into their Statz Index, so the rankings always reflect the latest results.
It means we rate that player roughly two shots a round better than the average PGA Tour pro. Anything above +2 is elite, world No. 1 territory; the tour average is 0 by definition.
