Somerset Post Imposing 215/4
Somerset’s innings was powered by two outstanding knocks. Tom Banton got things moving with a rapid 24 off 13 (three fours, one six, SR 185) before falling caught at 35/1. Joshua Thomas (11 off 9) went at 39/2, and Thomas Rew was bowled for a duck at 98/4 – the same over James Rew (28 off 23) departed caught at 98/3.
From 98/4, Jordan Hermann and Lewis Gregory put on a breathtaking unbroken 117-run stand. Together they turned a precarious 98/4 into an imposing 215/4.

Webster Masterclass Powers Record Chase
Chasing 216, Warwickshire lost Zen Malik run out for a duck at 2/1 in the first over. Yates (24 off 15, three fours, one six) got the scoring moving, but when he fell caught at 46/2 in the fifth over, the required rate was climbing fast.
Enter Webster. The Australian all-rounder played one of the great T20 Blast innings – 112 off 61 balls with nine fours and seven sixes, striking at 184. He dominated a crucial 145-run stand with Dan Mousley, who was brilliant in his own right with an unbeaten 71 off 36 (nine fours, two sixes, SR 197). The pair made the impossible look routine.
Webster finally fell caught at 191/3 in the 18th over, and Ed Barnard (2) departed at 211/4, but Mousley and Chris Woakes (1*) sealed the win with two balls to spare.
Somerset’s bowlers had a tough evening. Daniel Sams was the most economical at 4-0-29-0, while Gregory took 4-0-45-1. Jake Ball went for 43 off 2.4 overs.
Statz MVP
Lewis Gregory takes the Statz MVP award with an mi_rating of 114.80. While Webster’s 112 was the headline act, Statz’s formula – which calculates impact based on match context – rated Gregory’s combined contributions as marginally more impactful. His 55* off 26 (six sixes) came from 98/4 to take Somerset to a supposedly match-winning 215, and he also took 4-0-45-1 in the field. That is a genuine match-shaping all-round display.

Turning Point
The moment Dan Mousley joined Beau Webster at 46/2 in the fifth over. Needing 170 from 90 balls, the pair launched a counter-attack that no bowler could contain. Their 145-run partnership at over 10 runs per over turned the game on its head and made 216 look below par.
Match Context
This was the 51st match of 112 in the T20 Blast 2026. Warwickshire climb to 16th with just their second win from 6 matches (4 points) – but what a way to get it. They will need many more results like this to salvage their campaign. Somerset drop to 15th with 2 wins and 4 losses (8 points), and defending 215 should have been straightforward. Conceding 216/4 in 19.4 overs will raise serious questions about their bowling options.
