Saim Ayub produced a match-winning performance with an explosive 102 off 58 balls, striking at 175.86 with 6 fours and 8 sixes, as Jamaica posted 182 for 7 before holding their nerve to restrict St Kitts and Nevis Patriots to 171 for 6. Jamaica’s Batting Blitz – Ayub Takes Centre Stage
St Kitts and Nevis won the toss and elected to bowl, but Jamaica’s top order came out swinging. Keacy Carty fell for a duck at 1/1 in the opening over, but Saim Ayub took the attack to the Patriots’ bowling from ball one. The left-hander raced to 102 off just 58 deliveries, striking at 175.86 with 8 sixes and 6 fours, before being caught at 164/2 in the 18th over. Ayub’s innings was the centrepiece of Jamaica’s total, combining aggression with timing to put the Patriots under immediate pressure.
Maaz Sadaqat (2 off 6) fell cheaply at 12/3, while Kirk McKenzie (10 off 13) and Usman Khan (10 off 9) provided brief support. Rovman Powell struck 21 off 17 balls (1 four, 1 six) before being dismissed at 135/6 in the 16th over. Keemo Paul finished unbeaten on 25 off 13 (3 fours, strike rate 192), adding crucial late runs to push Jamaica past 180.
Wanindu Hasaranga was the standout bowler for the Patriots, taking 2 for 18 from 4 overs at an economy of 4.5, while Naseem Shah claimed 2 for 35 from 4. Obed McCoy and Jason Holder proved expensive, conceding 43 and 39 runs respectively.
Patriots Fall Short in Chase
St Kitts and Nevis needed 183 to win, but the chase never quite caught fire. Kyle Mayers fell for 8 at 10/2 in the opening over, leaving Johnson Charles (14 off 17) to anchor the early overs. Andre Fletcher provided the main resistance with 55 off 38 balls (4 fours, 3 sixes, strike rate 145), building a 130-run stand with Charles before being caught at 140/3 in the 15th over.
Kevin Wickham (1 off 3) and Mikyle Louis (9 off 14) offered little resistance in the middle overs. Jason Holder struck 34 off 23 balls (3 fours, 2 sixes) before being bowled at 150/6 in the 18th over, but the damage was already done. Dasun Shanaka finished unbeaten on 35 off 18 (1 four, 4 sixes, strike rate 194), but Jamaica’s bowling held firm to secure the 11-run victory.
Saim Ayub took 1 for 20 from 4 overs with the ball, while Hunain Shah claimed 2 for 23 from 4 overs. Keemo Paul took 1 for 31 from 4, and Jediah Blades picked up 2 for 50 from 4 overs.

Turning Point
The match turned when Saim Ayub was caught for 102 at 164/2 in the 18th over of Jamaica’s innings. Ayub had been the driving force behind Jamaica’s aggressive batting, striking at 175.86, and his dismissal meant Jamaica lost their primary source of runs. Though Keemo Paul added valuable late runs, Jamaica’s total of 182 proved just enough. The Patriots’ chase never recovered from losing Kyle Mayers early and failing to build substantial partnerships around Andre Fletcher.
