How Statz Rating works:
- Each player receives a contextual match impact score based on their all-round contribution — batting, bowling, and situational factors.
- Ratings are scaled against the season benchmark so they are directly comparable across fixtures and to the season leaderboard.
- A typical top performer scores around 100. Exceptional performances can exceed 100.
LSG vs PBKS – IPL 2026 Match Report | Statz
Shreyas Iyer Smashes Unbeaten Century as Punjab Kings Cruise Past Lucknow
Punjab Kings won by 7 wickets (with 12 balls remaining) as Shreyas Iyer hammered an unbeaten 101 off 51 balls to chase down 197 with two overs to spare. The 68th match of 74 in the Indian Premier League 2026 saw Punjab Kings strengthen their grip on 4th place with 15 points, while Lucknow Super Giants remain rooted to the bottom of the table on 8 points with their season effectively over.
First Innings – LSG 196/6 (20 overs)
Lucknow’s innings was a tale of two halves. Arshin Kulkarni fell for a duck in the second over, caught off Azmatullah Omarzai with the score on 16/1.1. Nicholas Pooran followed cheaply – bowled for just 2 off 7 balls at 20/2.5. Two down inside three overs, LSG were in serious trouble.
Enter Ayush Badoni. His blistering 43 off 18 balls at a strike rate of 239 – five fours and three sixes – dragged LSG out of the mire before he was stumped at 69/6.4. That counterattack shifted the momentum entirely.
Josh Inglis anchored the innings superbly with 72 off 44 balls, hitting nine fours and two sixes at a strike rate of 164. He was the glue holding everything together through the middle overs. Rishabh Pant contributed 26 off 22 but his strike rate of 118 slowed things slightly through the middle phase.
Abdul Samad provided the late fireworks with an unbeaten 37 off 20 balls – three fours and three sixes at 185 strike rate – pushing LSG to a competitive 196/6. Mukul Choudhary managed just 1 off 3 before falling, while Arjun Tendulkar finished unbeaten on 5 off 5.
Yuzvendra Chahal was the pick of the Punjab bowlers with figures of 2/25 from his four overs at an economy of 6.25 – comfortably the most economical on either side. Marco Jansen also claimed 2/33 from his four overs, while Shashank Singh chipped in with 1/29. Arshdeep Singh had a day to forget, going for 52 runs from just three wicketless overs at an economy of 17.33. Vijaykumar Vyshak went at 8.67 without reward.
Second Innings – PBKS 200/3 (18 overs)
Punjab Kings lost Priyansh Arya to a golden duck off the very first ball – caught at 0/0.1. Cooper Connolly hit a quick-fire 18 off 10 balls with four boundaries before being bowled at 22/2.2. At two down inside three overs, PBKS were in a similar hole to LSG earlier.
What followed was total domination. Prabhsimran Singh and Shreyas Iyer put together a partnership of 140 runs that completely took the game away from Lucknow. Prabhsimran smashed 69 off 39 balls – seven fours and two sixes at a strike rate of 177 – before falling LBW at 162/14.6. By then, it was far too late for LSG.
Iyer was imperious throughout. His century came off just 51 deliveries, laced with 11 fours and 5 sixes at a strike rate of 198. He finished unbeaten on 101, with Suryansh Shedge (9* off 7) for company as PBKS cruised home in 18 overs.
LSG’s bowling attack was hammered across the board. Mohammed Shami was the only bowler to take wickets, finishing with 2/45 from four overs.
