Indian Premier League 2026 – 18th Match
Chennai Super Kings won by 23 runs
MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai | 11 April 2026
A century from Sanju Samson and a devastating four-wicket burst from Jamie Overton gave Chennai Super Kings a commanding 23-run win over Delhi Capitals at Chepauk. Samson’s unbeaten 115 off 56 balls lit up the Chepauk night, while Overton’s 4/18 from four overs – the best figures of the IPL so far this season – did the rest. Overton earned a Statz MVP rating of 97.0, with Samson close behind on 65.4.
Chennai Super Kings innings: 212/1 (20 overs)
Delhi Capitals won the toss and chose to field. They will regret it. Ayush Mhatre retired hurt early but returned to finish with 59 off 36 balls (3 fours, 4 sixes), and Ruturaj Gaikwad contributed 15 before edging Axar Patel to slip. But the innings belonged entirely to Sanju Samson.
The wicketkeeper-batter was simply imperious. He reached his century before the innings was done and finished 115 not out off 56 balls – 15 fours, 4 sixes, strike rate of 205. With Shivam Dube blasting 20 off 10 at the death, CSK posted 212/1, an imposing total at any ground.

Delhi needed 213 to win and started well. Pathum Nissanka smashed 41 off 24 and KL Rahul added 18, putting on 61 for the first wicket before Anshul Kamboj struck. Axar Patel (1 off 2) fell cheaply and the chase started to unravel. Sameer Rizvi went for 6, David Miller was bowled by Overton for 17, and the damage was done.
Tristan Stubbs gave it everything with 60 off 38 balls but found little support. Jamie Overton was relentless – four wickets in four overs at an economy of 4.50 – and Delhi were bowled out for 189 in the final over. CSK win by 23 runs.
