Delhi Capitals produced one of the individual batting performances of IPL 2026 to overhaul Mumbai Indians’ 162, with Sameer Rizvi scoring a jaw-dropping 90 off 51 to almost single-handedly take Delhi home by 6 wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Mumbai Indians, sent in after Delhi won the toss, posted 162/6 from their 20 overs. It was a score built largely on Suryakumar Yadav’s 51 off 36 (acting captain, lbw Lungi Ngidi) and Rohit Sharma’s useful 35 off 26 at the top. Naman Dhir (28 off 21) and Mitchell Santner’s unbeaten 18 off 13 helped MI get to a fighting total, but the bowlers couldn’t back it up.
Delhi’s bowling was disciplined. Axar Patel led from the front with 1/22 from 4 overs at an economy of 5.5. Lungi Ngidi, Vipraj Nigam, and Thangarasu Natarajan each conceded fewer than 9 runs per over.
