Hyderabad Kingsmen vs Islamabad United Match Report – PSL 2026, 21st Match
Hyderabad Kingsmen 157/4 beat Islamabad United 153/9 | PSL 2026, 21st Match
Hyderabad Kingsmen ended a run of four straight losses with a composed six-wicket chase at National Stadium, Karachi. Asif Mehmood‘s four-wicket burst strangled the Islamabad United lower order after the openers had threatened a big total – and Marnus Labuschagne‘s calm 45* then anchored a smooth run chase. Kingsmen win with 11 balls to spare.
Islamabad United: 153/9 (20 overs)
United got off to a strong start through Devon Conway and Sameer Minhas – 56 on the board inside 6 overs. Conway fell for 45 off 31 balls (7 fours), run out in the 10th over just as a partnership with Mark Chapman was building. Chapman played the best innings of the day for Islamabad – 42 off 30, with three fours and two sixes, keeping United competitive deep into the innings. But Asif Mehmood had other ideas. The Kingsmen spinner tore through the lower order with four wickets for just 18 runs off two overs, dismissing Chapman, Imad Wasim, Mehran Mumtaz and Chris Green in quick succession. United limped to 153/9 – a total that always looked 15-20 short on a Karachi surface offering little for the bowlers.
Top scorer: Devon Conway 45 (31) | Key bowling: Asif Mehmood 4/18 (2 overs), Mohammad Ali 2/26 (4 overs)
Hyderabad Kingsmen: 157/4 (18.1 overs)
The chase never really threatened to go wrong. Maaz Sadaqat came out swinging – 30 off just 16 balls with four fours and two sixes – before falling to Chris Green in the 5th over. Saim Ayub picked up the tempo after that, driving and cutting his way to 35 off 26, sharing a quick stand with Labuschagne before Faheem Ashraf got him in the 13th over. Labuschagne, in his captain’s knock, batted through the tension. He made 45* off 40 balls – not a tearaway rate, but exactly what the chase needed: steady accumulation, no alarms. Kusal Perera fell cheaply for 2, but Glenn Maxwell (1*) was there at the end as Kingsmen crossed the line with 11 balls remaining. Chris Green and Faheem Ashraf each took two wickets to keep it respectably close, but the target was never enough.
Top scorer: Marnus Labuschagne 45* (40) | Key bowling: Chris Green 2/18 (3.5 overs), Faheem Ashraf 2/22 (3 overs)
