Namibia beat Scotland by 4 Wickets – 3rd T20I Match Report
George Munsey blazed a brilliant century, but it wasn’t enough. Namibia chased 187 off the final ball at the Namibia Cricket Ground to win the 3rd T20I and pull the series back to 2-1, keeping the five-match contest alive.
Scotland Set a Target to Chase
Scotland won the toss and elected to bat, and for a long time it looked like the right call. George Munsey was imperious – 108 off 64 balls, striking at 168.75, driving the total past 150 with a third-wicket stand of 91 alongside Finlay McCreath.
McCreath made 25 before Jack Brassell stumped him, and when Brandon McMullen fell for 7 to Waldo Smith the innings needed the top order to go big. Munsey delivered. He was finally caught off Waldo Smith – who claimed two wickets at 9.75 economy – with Scotland at 171 in the 18th. Matthew Cross finished with an unbeaten 23 off 8 (SR 287.5) to carry Scotland to 186/4.
It was a strong score. Whether it was enough was another question.
Namibia Grind It Out
Namibia’s chase was built around two partnerships and held together by nerve. Louren Steenkamp set the tone early – 26 off 12 at strike rate 216 – before Mackenzie Jones removed him in the fifth over. Then Jan Frylinck took control.
Jan Frylinck made 78 off 53, striking at 147, before Brandon McMullen ended his innings in the 14th over with Namibia at 146. Gerhard Erasmus, the skipper, came in and made 44 off 34 before Jasper Davidson – Scotland’s best bowler on the night with 3/51 – removed him in the 18th with Namibia on 152.
From 152/4, Namibia still needed 35 off the final two overs. The 6th wicket fell at 178, leaving them needing 9 off the last over. Dylan Leicher struck 8* off 3 balls to drag Namibia over the line off the very last delivery. A finish you couldn’t script.

The last-ball win – Namibia 187/6 off a Leicher flick – was the result of a chase that never quite ran away and never quite fell over.
Series Standing
Scotland still lead the T20 International series 2-1, with two matches remaining. The first two games went their way convincingly – a 7-wicket win in the 1st T20I and a 19-run victory in the 2nd. Namibia have now shown they can compete. The series is alive.
