How Statz Rating works:
- Each player receives a contextual match impact score based on their all-round contribution — batting, bowling, and situational factors.
- Ratings are scaled against the season benchmark so they are directly comparable across fixtures and to the season leaderboard.
- A typical top performer scores around 100. Exceptional performances can exceed 100.
Worcestershire beat Glamorgan by 15 runs – T20 Blast Match Report
Worcestershire won by 15 runs in the 80th match of 115 in the T20 Blast 2026 at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff. Gareth Roderick struck 71 off 43 balls to power Worcestershire to 161 for 9, before Ben Kellaway produced a stunning all-round display for Glamorgan – 43 off 26 with the bat and 3 for 24 with the ball – but it proved insufficient as the hosts fell 15 short at 146 all out. The win lifts Worcestershire to 6th (6W 4L, 24pts) while Glamorgan remain 7th (5W 4L, 20pts).
Worcestershire’s Batting – Roderick Blitz Drives Visitors to 161
Worcestershire won the toss and elected to bat, and Gareth Roderick made the decision pay with a blistering counter-attack. Opening the innings, Roderick struck 8 fours and 2 sixes at a strike rate of 165, anchoring Worcestershire’s innings with 71 off 43 balls. Isaac Mohammed provided early impetus with 8 off 4 (2 fours) before falling at 9 for 1 in the opening over, but Roderick’s aggression kept the scoreboard ticking.
Kashif Ali managed just 5 off 11 before being clean bowled at 47 for 1, and Adam Hose contributed 16 off 12 (2 fours) before departing at 83 for 4. Henry Cullen (6 off 8) and Usama Mir (0 off 1) fell in quick succession at 93 for 6, leaving Worcestershire needing late-order contributions.
Beyers Swanepoel struck 11 off 10 (1 four), Matthew Waite added 10 off 13 (1 four), and Tom Taylor finished with 19 off 13 (2 sixes) to push Worcestershire past 160. Ben Allison remained unbeaten on 11 off 6 (1 six).
Ben Kellaway was the standout bowler for Glamorgan, taking 3 for 24 from 3 overs – a miserly display that kept the pressure on despite Roderick’s brilliance. Mason Crane claimed 2 for 24 from 4 overs, while James Neesham took 1 for 25 from 4.
Glamorgan’s Chase – Kellaway Sparks Brief Revival
Glamorgan’s chase began brightly. Kiran Carlson struck 14 off 9 (3 fours) before falling at 19 for 1 in the 2nd over, and Will Smale contributed 15 off 10 (3 fours) at 46 for 2. But the real fireworks came from Ben Kellaway, who smashed 43 off 26 balls (4 fours, 2 sixes) at a strike rate of 165, lifting Glamorgan to 100 for 3 in the 11th over before being run out at that mark.
The loss of Kellaway proved pivotal. Asa Tribe fell for a duck at 46 for 4 in the 4th over, and Sean Dickson managed 17 off 16 (2 fours) before falling lbw at 83 for 5 in the 9th. Chris Cooke added 14 off 15 (1 four) at 118 for 6, but the momentum had shifted decisively.
James Neesham struck 8 off 8 (1 four) before falling at 111 for 7, and Daniel Douthwaite managed just 4 off 7 before being clean bowled at 119 for 8. Nathan McAndrew contributed 13 off 12 (1 four, 1 six) at 135 for 9, but the target had slipped beyond reach. Timm van der Gugten remained unbeaten on 11 off 8 (1 four) as Glamorgan fell 15 runs short.
Fateh Singh was the pick of Worcestershire’s bowlers, taking 3 for 17 from 3.2 overs at an economy of 5.1. Beyers Swanepoel claimed 3 for 36 from 3 overs, while Usama Mir took 2 for 17 from 4 overs.
Statz MVP: Ben Kellaway (Statz Rating: 126.58)
Ben Kellaway earns the Statz MVP award with a Statz Rating of 126.58 – a dominant all-round performance that nearly carried Glamorgan to victory. His 43 off 26 with the bat (strike rate 165) and 3 for 24 with the ball showcased his value across both disciplines.
