First Innings – Durham 218/6 (20 overs)
Middlesex won the toss and elected to bowl, but Durham’s openers had other ideas. Graham Clark got things moving with 15 off 11 (1×4, 1×6) before being caught at 31/3.3, bringing Ben McKinney to the crease. McKinney struck a brisk 26 off 14 (2×4, 2×6, SR 186), and the pair added 70 for the second wicket before McKinney fell at 101 in the 10th over.
Through it all, Lees was imperious. The left-hander reached his fifty and kept accelerating, punishing anything short or overpitched. David Bedingham contributed 11 off 9 before falling at 137, and Ollie George Robinson cracked a rapid 29 off 16 (4×4, 1×6, SR 181) to keep the momentum going.
Colin Ackermann then provided the finishing fireworks with an unbeaten 18 off just 6 balls – four boundaries, strike rate 300. Lees was finally caught at 218 off the penultimate ball, having struck 11 fours and 4 sixes in a 64-ball masterpiece. Eathan Bosch went for 56 off four overs and Josh de Caires conceded 33 off three as Middlesex’s attack was taken apart.
Second Innings – Middlesex 118 all out (14.5 overs)
The chase never got started. Joe Cracknell was caught for 2 off the second ball of the innings, and Max Holden followed for 2, caught at 13/2 in the third over. Matthew Boyle managed 9 before becoming the third wicket to fall, caught at 14/3 after just 2.4 overs. Middlesex were staring down the barrel before they had drawn breath.
Leus du Plooy showed some resistance with 34 off 21 (2×4, 2×6, SR 162), dragging the score from 14/3 to 61 before he was caught in the 9th over. Luke Hollman hit a defiant 22 off 14 (2×4, 1×6) and Eathan Bosch top-scored in the lower order with 27 off 19 (3×4), but the required rate was never remotely within reach.
Durham’s seamers shared the spoils ruthlessly. Matty Potts returned 3/18 from three overs, Ben Raine claimed 3/17 from 2.5 overs, and Kasey Aldridge picked up 3/38 from three. Nine wickets fell to catches in a display of outstanding fielding to match the bowling.
