Aneurin Donald played one of the innings of the tournament so far. Walking in with Derbyshire needing a platform, he struck 84 off 31 deliveries at a strike rate of 271, clearing the boundary eight times and finding the rope seven more. Jack Haynes counter-attacked with 45 off 26 balls at a strike rate of 173 to keep the chase alive, smashing four fours and a six. But his dismissal at 93/3 in the 12th over left too much to do for the lower middle order.

Enter Tom Moores. The wicketkeeper-batter played a sensational unbeaten 75 off 34 balls at a strike rate of 221, hitting three fours and seven sixes. It was an extraordinary knock in a losing cause.
