Zimbabwe beat Bangladesh by 32 runs – T20 Internationals Match Report
Zimbabwe won by 32 runs in the 132nd match of 143 in T20 Internationals at Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo. Zimbabwe posted 170 for 6 before Bangladesh collapsed to 138 all out in 19 overs, with pace bowling from Blessing Muzarabani and Richard Ngarava dismantling the chase. The hosts dominated with the ball to secure a commanding victory.
Zimbabwe’s Batting Platform
Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bowl, but Zimbabwe made them pay with a fluent batting display. Brian Bennett set the tone with 44 off 30 balls (6 fours, 1 six) at a strike rate of 147, putting Zimbabwe on the front foot early. Tadiwanashe Marumani provided quick runs with 14 off 9 (2 sixes) before falling at 37/2 in the 3rd over.
Dion Myers (20 off 20) and Sikandar Raza (20 off 13, 2 fours, 1 six) steadied the innings through the middle overs, but the real acceleration came from the lower order. Ryan Burl remained unbeaten on 30 off 25 (2 fours, 1 six), anchoring the tail, while Brad Evans smashed 19 off just 10 balls (4 fours) to push Zimbabwe to 170. Milton Shumba (11 off 13) contributed in the middle order before falling at 139/6.
Nahid Rana was Bangladesh‘s standout bowler with 4 for 26 from 4 overs, taking key wickets to keep the hosts in check. Mohammad Saifuddin added 2 for 35 from 4 overs, but Bangladesh‘s bowling lacked the precision needed to restrict Zimbabwe further.
Bangladesh’s Collapse
Bangladesh began their chase positively, but the loss of early wickets derailed their momentum. Saif Hassan (12 off 15, 2 fours) fell at 25/1 in the 3rd over, followed by Tanzid Hasan (16 off 8, 3 fours) at 30/2 in the 4th. Parvez Hossain Emon (5 off 5) departed at 34/3, leaving Bangladesh in early trouble.
Yasir Ali provided the only meaningful resistance with 54 off 38 balls (2 fours, 3 sixes) at a strike rate of 142, building a 96-run stand with Towhid Hridoy (14 off 13) to keep Bangladesh in the contest. However, his dismissal at 130/4 in the 17th over proved fatal. Mahedi Hasan (19 off 18, 3 fours) fought hard but lacked support, and Bangladesh lost their final six wickets for just 8 runs to be bowled out in 19 overs.

Blessing Muzarabani was exceptional with the ball, taking 4 for 17 from 4 overs at an economy of 4.25 – a miserly display that choked Bangladesh‘s chase.
