Guyana Amazon Warriors beat Jamaica Kingsmen by 6 wickets (with 35 balls remaining) – Caribbean Premier League Match Report
Guyana Amazon Warriors won by 6 wickets (with 35 balls remaining) in the 6th match of 39 in the Caribbean Premier League 2026 at Sabina Park, Kingston. Mohammad Nabi delivered a match-defining all-round display – taking 4/22 from 4 overs with the ball and scoring 19 off 15 with the bat – as Guyana dismantled Jamaica’s fragile batting order and chased down 118 with ease. The victory lifts Guyana to 6th in the standings, while Jamaica remain rooted to 7th with two defeats from two matches.
Jamaica Collapse to 117 All Out
Guyana won the toss and elected to bowl first, a decision that proved instantly vindicated. Reeza Hendricks top-scored with 40 off 32 (2 fours, 2 sixes) but found little support around him. Rovman Powell struck 24 off 17 (2 sixes) in a brief cameo, and Vitel Lawes added 14 off 11 (1 four, 1 six), but Jamaica’s middle order crumbled under sustained pressure. Shayan Jahangir fell for 1 at 3/2, Keacy Carty was bowled for 5 at 26/3, and Andre Russell managed just 1 at 80/7 – a collapse that left Jamaica batting out their full 20 overs for a meagre 117.
Mohammad Nabi was the architect of Jamaica’s downfall, claiming 4/22 from 4 overs at an economy of 5.5 – a performance that set the tone for the chase. Shamar Joseph took 2/22 from 2.4 overs, while Imran Tahir chipped in with 2/26 from 4. Khary Pierre claimed 1/17 from 4 and Glenn Phillips took 1/5 from 1 over.
Guyana’s Serene Chase
Glenn Phillips struck 28 off 17 (4 fours, 1 six) at a strike rate of 165 to set Guyana’s aggressive tempo, but he fell at 43/1 in the 5th over. Shai Hope then took centre stage, crafting an unbeaten 56 off 41 (2 fours, 4 sixes) at a strike rate of 137 to anchor the chase with calm authority. Mohammad Nabi contributed a quickfire 19 off 15 (2 fours) to accelerate the run-rate when needed, while Quentin Sampson finished unbeaten on 13 off 9 (1 four, 1 six).
Jamaica’s bowling attack lacked penetration. Andre Russell took 2/12 from 2 overs, but Vitel Lawes conceded 37 from 4 overs, and Jediah Blades went for 20 from 2. The target was never in doubt – Guyana reached 118 for 4 in just 14.1 overs, winning with 35 balls to spare.
