Barbados Royals Post 206
Jamaica Kingsmen won the toss and elected to bowl first, but Barbados made them pay with a dominant batting display. Zachary Carter provided early impetus with 27 off 15 balls (4 fours, 1 six) before falling at 40/1 in the 3rd over. Quinton de Kock followed with a brisk 42 off 25 (2 fours, 3 sixes) at a strike rate of 168, helping Barbados to 112/2 in the 10th over.
Brandon King anchored the innings with a commanding 73 off 51 balls (5 fours, 4 sixes), striking at 143 and carrying Barbados through the middle overs. Sherfane Rutherford provided the late-order acceleration with an unbeaten 50 off 28 (4 fours, 3 sixes) at a strike rate of 179, propelling Barbados to 206/3 from their full 20 overs.
Andre Russell was Jamaica’s leading bowler with 1/51 from 4 overs, while Jediah Blades took 1/23 from 2. Keemo Paul conceded 37 from 4 overs without a breakthrough, and Vitel Lawes went for 41 from 3 as Barbados’ batsmen found the boundary with ease.
Jamaica Kingsmen Fall Short at 201
Jamaica’s chase began in chaos. Reeza Hendricks was clean bowled for 2 at 7/1 in the opening over, and Shayan Jahangir departed without scoring at 1/2 in the first ball of the second over. Kirk McKenzie also fell early for a duck at 8/3, leaving Jamaica in deep trouble at 8/3 after just 1.3 overs.
Keacy Carty steadied the ship with 45 off 27 (1 four, 4 sixes) at a strike rate of 167, building a crucial 124-run partnership with Rovman Powell (38 off 24, 4 sixes) to bring Jamaica back into the contest. But the real fireworks came from Andre Russell, who smashed 68 off 38 balls (9 sixes) at a strike rate of 179, nearly single-handedly carrying Jamaica to victory.
Vitel Lawes contributed 32 off 20 (4 sixes) in the lower order, but Jamaica fell agonisingly short. Russell was caught at 201/7 in the 19th over with Jamaica needing 6 runs from the final over, and Hunain Shah could not finish the job. Jamaica were restricted to 201/9, falling 5 runs short.
