Hyderabad Kingsmen beat Multan Sultans by 4 Wickets – PSL 2026 Match Report
Usman Khan’s 101 off 47 balls was the difference. Hyderabad Kingsmen chased down 214 with three balls to spare at National Stadium Karachi, sealing a pulsating 4-wicket win over Multan Sultans in PSL 2026’s 33rd Match. The wicketkeeper-batter hit five fours and ten sixes in an innings that turned the game on its head, before Hassan Khan finished it off with a stunning cameo of 24* off just 6 balls.
How It Unfolded
Multan Sultans batted first and put on a serious show of their own. Steven Smith was the centrepiece – 106 off 50 balls, hitting 12 fours and 6 sixes at a strike rate of 212. It’s the kind of innings that resets your expectations of what Smith can do in T20 cricket. Sahibzada Farhan backed him up with 66 off 43 at the top of the order, the pair putting on 132 for the first wicket before Akif Javed made the breakthrough. Multan finished 213/7 – a total that looked more than enough on a National Stadium surface that doesn’t always reward big chasing.
HK’s chase started shakily. They were 48/3 inside six overs with Maaz Sadaqat, Saim Ayub, and Kusal Perera all gone cheaply. Marnus Labuschagne put the brakes on the collapse, making 61 off 41 with nine boundaries and anchoring the innings into the 16th over. But it was Usman Khan who took the game away from Multan. His century – 101 off 47 – arrived at a SR of 214.89, striking ten sixes in a blitz that shifted the required rate in HK’s favour. When he was dismissed in the 18th over with HK needing 33 off 14, it looked tight.
That’s where Hassan Khan took over. Coming in with the game in the balance, he smashed 24* off six balls – three sixes, a four – to seal the win with three balls remaining. Peter Siddle (3/39) and Mohammad Ismail (3/41) had fought hard for Multan, but the HK lower order had other ideas.
Statz Ratings

Hassan Khan topped the chart with a 67.7 rating – his 24* off 6 and a wicket in hand combining to make him the highest-impact player on the park. Usman Khan followed on 65.5 despite falling short of carrying HK home – his century laid the platform.
Steven Smith rated 56.8 on the losing side – a brilliant individual effort in a match that ended in defeat. Peter Siddle’s 36.7 showed that his 3/39 was a genuine bowling performance against a red-hot batting side. Mohammad Ali picked up 33.3 for his economic 1/24 in the powerplay phase.
