Warwickshire Post 203 – Webster and Mousley Blitz
Warwickshire won the toss and elected to bat, and their middle order made the decision pay handsomely. Zen Malik set the tone with 32 off 19 balls (5 fours, 1 six) before falling caught at 35/1 in the 4th over. Robert Yates departed cheaply for 2 at 41/2, but Beau Webster took control with a commanding 78 off 44 (9 fours, 2 sixes) at a strike rate of 177, anchoring a crucial 153-run stand with Dan Mousley.
Sam Hain managed just 11 off 11 at 69/4, but Mousley’s explosive unbeaten 72 off 36 balls (2 fours, 6 sixes) at a strike rate of 200 propelled Warwickshire to 203 for 5. Jordan Thompson chipped in 5 off 3 before falling at 203/5 in the final over. Matthew Taylor was Gloucestershire’s leading bowler with 2 for 45 from 4 overs, while Liam Scott took 1 for 44 from 4.
Gloucestershire Fall Short – Tariq Strangles the Chase
Gloucestershire needed 204 to win, but Tariq’s miserly bowling from the start made the target look increasingly distant. D’Arcy Short opened with 25 off 23 (5 fours) before falling caught at 58/1 in the 6th over. Dawid Malan struck 30 off 22 (4 fours, 1 six) at 63/2, but was bowled in the 8th over – the first of Tariq’s three victims.
Liam Scott added 14 off 13 before falling lbw at 78/3, leaving Gloucestershire struggling at 109 for 4 when Miles Hammond departed for 6. Jack Taylor fought back with an unbeaten 48 off 28 (6 fours, 1 six) at a strike rate of 171, but the damage was done. Kamran Dhariwal contributed 20 off 13 (2 fours, 1 six) at 130/5, and James Bracey made 6 off 3 before falling at 141/6.
Graeme van Buuren finished unbeaten on 14 off 8 (1 four, 1 six), but Gloucestershire’s total of 173 fell 30 runs short. Tariq’s 3 for 12 was the standout display, supported by Dan Mousley‘s 1 for 41 from 4 overs and Jordan Thompson‘s 1 for 47 from 4. Richard Gleeson took 0 for 32 from 4 overs.

Turning Point
The match turned decisively when Tariq took the ball in the middle overs. His 3 for 12 from 4 overs – conceding just 12 runs – squeezed Gloucestershire’s chase at a critical juncture. By the time Jack Taylor arrived at the crease, the asking rate had climbed too high and the lower order lacked the firepower to bridge the gap. Tariq’s economy of 3 in a T20 match proved match-winning.
