Glamorgan won by 7 wickets (with 7 balls remaining) in the 73rd match of 115 in the T20 Blast 2026 at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff. A devastating opening salvo from Kiran Carlson – 45 off just 20 balls at a strike rate of 225 – set the tone as Glamorgan hunted down Warwickshire’s 184 with consummate ease. The win lifts Glamorgan to 7th (6W 3L, 22pts) while Warwickshire slip to 13th (3W 6L, 12pts) in a crowded mid-table scrap.
Warwickshire Post 184 – Hain and Webster Lead Charge
Glamorgan won the toss and elected to bowl, but Warwickshire’s batting lineup made them pay early. Zen Malik was clean bowled for 9 at 25/1 in the 2.6th over, and Robert Yates fell for 13 at 25/2 in the 3.2nd over, leaving the visitors in early trouble.
Sam Hain steadied the ship with a composed 63 off 46 balls (5 fours, 2 sixes), anchoring the middle overs and refusing to panic. Beau Webster provided the acceleration, smashing 47 off 32 (3 fours, 3 sixes) at a strike rate of 147 to build a crucial 86-run stand with Hain. Dan Mousley then unleashed a brutal counter-attack, striking 27 off just 15 balls (3 fours, 1 six) at 180 to propel Warwickshire from 111/3 in the 13th over to 154/4 in the 17th. Ed Barnard finished with a flourish, 17 off 7 (3 fours) at 243, as Warwickshire reached 184/4.
Glamorgan’s bowlers were expensive but effective. Nathan McAndrew took 1/29 from 3 overs, Mason Crane claimed 1/35 from 4, and James Neesham picked up 1/33 from 3. Ben Kellaway took 1/30 from 4 overs.
Glamorgan Chase Down with Ease – Carlson Blitz Decides It
Glamorgan’s reply was a masterclass in controlled aggression. Kiran Carlson exploded from the first ball, smashing 45 off 20 (5 fours, 3 sixes) at a strike rate of 225 before being clean bowled at 75/1 in the 6.1st over. His assault had already shifted the momentum decisively.
Will Smale took up the mantle with a composed 62 off 50 balls (6 fours, 3 sixes), building a 67-run stand with Carlson and then anchoring the chase through the middle overs. Ben Kellaway was clean bowled for a duck at 75/2 in the 6.3rd over, but Smale remained unflappable. He fell for 62 at 142/2 in the 15.1st over, clean bowled, but by then the chase was all but won.
Asa Tribe (38 off 31, 3 fours) and Sean Dickson (24 off 11, 1 four, 2 sixes) sealed the deal with an unbeaten 62-run stand, guiding Glamorgan home with 7 balls to spare. Usman Tariq was Warwickshire’s standout bowler with 2/13 from 4 overs at an economy of 3.25, but it proved too little too late. Richard Gleeson took 1/57 from 3.5 overs, leaking runs at 14.87 per over.

Turning Point
The match turned in the opening six overs of Glamorgan’s chase. Kiran Carlson‘s 45 off 20 at a strike rate of 225 reduced Warwickshire’s 184 to a modest target almost single-handedly. By the time Carlson fell at 75/1 in the 6.1st over, Glamorgan needed just 110 off 81 balls with nine wickets in hand – a chase that was never in doubt. Warwickshire’s bowlers, despite Tariq’s excellence, lacked the firepower to stem the flow of runs.
