Seb Friday, March 20, 2026

PSL 2026 features eight teams for the first time. Six familiar faces, two brand new franchises, and a whole set of new match-ups to unpick. This is your complete guide to all eight squads – who the key players are, what the betting angles look like, and where the value might sit.

All player data is drawn from Statz PSL season leaders. If a player isn’t on there, they haven’t performed at PSL level – simple as that.

Lahore Qalandars

Lahore Qalandars are the defending champions and the most successful team in recent PSL history. Four titles including three in a row from 2021 to 2023, plus a repeat in 2025. They set the standard.

Key Players

  • Shaheen Afridi (c) – Led the PSL 2025 bowling charts with 19 wickets. The most dangerous new-ball bowler in the competition. Back him for bowling performance props every game.
  • Fakhar Zaman – 439 runs and 24 sixes in PSL 2025. A serious power-hitter at the top of the order. Great target for runs and sixes markets.
  • Abdullah Shafique – 390 runs in PSL 2025. Consistent accumulator who gives Lahore a reliable second option at the top.
  • Haris Rauf – 17 wickets last season. Pairs with Shaheen to form the most potent bowling attack in the tournament.
  • Sikandar Raza – Experienced Zimbabwe international who adds genuine depth as an all-rounder.
  • Usama Mir – Leg-spin option to support the pace attack.

Betting angle: When Lahore play at Gaddafi Stadium, Shaheen and Rauf get conditions that suit them. This is prime territory for bowling markets. Check Statz hit rates before placing.

Islamabad United

Islamabad United are a two-time PSL champion with a deep squad and a proven formula. Devon Conway arrives as their overseas wicketkeeper-batter, adding serious international pedigree.

Key Players

  • Shadab Khan (c) – 14 wickets in PSL 2025. A leg-spin option who also contributes with the bat. Watch his hit rates through the Statz hit rates tool.
  • Devon Conway (wk) – NZ Test opener making his PSL debut. A technically sound batter who averages well in T20 formats.
  • Faheem Ashraf – 17 wickets last season (then at Quetta). A big-game bowler who contributes with bat and ball – now bringing that form to United.
  • Imad Wasim – Experienced left-arm spinner and useful bat. A PSL stalwart.
  • Haider Ali – Aggressive middle-order option with serious hitting ability.

Betting angle: Shadab as top wicket-taker is worth checking. United for top team in powerplay – backed by their consistent data on Statz PSL leaders.

Multan Sultans

Multan Sultans won the PSL title in 2024. They’ve been reshuffled significantly for 2026, with Mohammad Rizwan departing to captain new franchise Pindiz. Steve Smith leads the overseas contingent.

Key Players

  • Steve Smith – Experienced Australian batter with a record of performing across formats worldwide. A serious option in runs markets.
  • Sahibzada Farhan – The PSL 2025 run-scoring champion with 449 runs and a century. Was at Islamabad last year but brings that form here. Excellent value in any runs-based market.
  • Ashton Turner (c) – Australian captain and aggressive middle-order finisher. Good target for runs markets.
  • Mohammad Nawaz – Left-arm spin all-rounder with PSL pedigree.
  • Tabraiz Shamsi – South Africa’s left-arm wrist spinner. A wicket-taking threat in the middle overs.
  • Wasim Jr – One of Pakistan’s most exciting young fast bowlers.

Betting angle: Farhan is a serious value target in runs markets. Check his Statz bet builder profile for hit rates before committing.

Quetta Gladiators

Quetta Gladiators are the 2019 champions. They’ve had a significant reshuffle for 2026 – Faheem Ashraf has moved on, but they’ve brought in Alzarri Joseph and Tom Curran to bolster the attack. Saud Shakeel captains for the first time.

Key Players

  • Hasan Nawaz – 399 runs and 28 sixes in PSL 2025. Most sixes of any player in the competition. If there’s a sixes market, his name belongs on your bet.
  • Saud Shakeel (c) – Pakistan’s most consistent Test batter now leading Quetta in T20. Technically sound, but watch his T20 strike rate data before punting on him.
  • Rilee Rossouw – South African power-hitter with a proven T20 track record globally.
  • Abrar Ahmed – 17 wickets with mystery spin in PSL 2025. Conditions at Gaddafi Stadium can suit spin, which makes Abrar a very attractive betting proposition.
  • Alzarri Joseph – West Indian quick who can blow teams away in short bursts.
  • Tom Curran – English pace-bowling all-rounder adds variety to the attack.

Betting angle: Hasan Nawaz for most sixes in a match is a recurring market worth monitoring. Check his Statz player profile for full career breakdowns.

Karachi Kings

Karachi Kings are the 2020 champions. For 2026 they’ve made a major overseas signing – David Warner leads a side that now includes Moeen Ali and Adam Zampa, giving them genuine multi-format depth.

Key Players

  • David Warner (c) – Former SunRisers captain and one of the most explosive T20 openers of his generation. A must-watch in runs and sixes markets.
  • Moeen Ali – England’s former white-ball captain is a genuine match-winner with bat and ball. His off-spin is especially dangerous in Karachi conditions.
  • Adam Zampa – Australia’s number one white-ball leg-spinner. A major wicket-taking threat throughout the innings.
  • Hasan Ali – 17 wickets last season. One of Pakistan’s most experienced T20 bowlers and a reliable wicket-taker.
  • Abbas Afridi – 17 wickets in PSL 2025. A genuinely rapid quick who can change games in a single spell.
  • Azam Khan (wk) – A destructive lower-order hitter who can accelerate in the back end of innings.

Betting angle: Warner top Karachi bat and Zampa top bowling market are both worth a look from game one.

Peshawar Zalmi

Peshawar Zalmi won the PSL in 2017. Babar Azam arrives to lead and transforms their batting ceiling overnight. They’re opening at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium in Peshawar – home advantage from day one.

Key Players

  • Babar Azam (c) – Pakistan’s best T20 batter. Any runs market involving Babar deserves serious attention. Check his Statz hit rates before every game.
  • James Vince – 378 runs and a century in PSL 2025 (then at Karachi). Now opens for Zalmi and brings proven PSL form.
  • Aaron Hardie – Australian all-rounder adding lower-order punch and medium-pace variety.
  • Michael Bracewell – New Zealand’s off-spinning all-rounder. Effective in all three phases.
  • Aamer Jamal – Emerging Pakistan pace option who’s earned his international spurs.
  • Kusal Mendis (wk) – Sri Lanka’s explosive wicketkeeper-batter adds another attacking option at the top.

Betting angle: Ground data is crucial here. Check the Statz grounds page for Peshawar pitch behaviour. Babar top team bat is a near-certainty at most prices.

Hyderabad Kingsmen – New for 2026

Brand new to PSL in 2026, but Hyderabad Kingsmen have assembled a genuinely star-studded overseas unit. Marnus Labuschagne captains; Glenn Maxwell and Saim Ayub give them serious hitting firepower.

Key Players

  • Marnus Labuschagne (c) – Making his PSL debut. A technically brilliant batter whose T20 record is still developing at this level – watch early before committing.
  • Glenn Maxwell – One of the most destructive T20 batters in the world on his day. Massive ceiling in sixes and runs markets when he fires.
  • Saim Ayub – Pakistan’s rising star and one of the hottest young batters in T20 cricket right now.
  • Kusal Perera (wk) – Sri Lanka veteran who can attack from ball one at the top of the order.
  • Riley Meredith – Australian express quick who generates serious pace and can blitz top-order batters early.

Betting angle: Maxwell is the volatility pick – enormous upside when he’s on, nothing when he’s not. Check his hit rates through the Statz cricket bet builder. Their opening match is against defending champions Lahore Qalandars on 26 March – treat with some caution in outright markets until we have a data baseline.

Once data flows, it will start appearing on the Statz PSL leaders board.

Pindiz – New for 2026

The second new franchise for PSL 2026, Rawalpindi-based Pindiz. Their key signing? Mohammad Rizwan – the former Multan Sultans captain now leads this new outfit.

Key Players

  • Mohammad Rizwan (c) – Scored a century in PSL 2025. The foundation of Pindiz’s batting order and the player everything runs through. Consistent run-scorer but watch for price compression at shorter odds.
  • Jake Fraser-McGurk – Australia’s explosive young opener who’s lit up T20 cricket worldwide. A serious threat in powerplay runs markets.
  • Daryll Mitchell – New Zealand’s Mr Reliable across formats. Solid middle-order option.
  • Naseem Shah – One of Pakistan’s premier fast bowlers. A major wicket-taking asset, especially with the new ball.
  • Mohammad Amir – PSL legend returning. His experience and accuracy make him dangerous in the powerplay.

Betting angle: Rizwan top team bat is the obvious starting point. But Fraser-McGurk is the value pick in powerplay runs markets – his strike rate in the first six overs is elite. They open against Peshawar Zalmi on 28 March in Peshawar.
