Ahmed Musaddiq (4 off 2) was caught in the first over at 4 in over 0.2, and Shahid Afridi (0 off 2) followed at 5 in over 0.5 – Germany 5/2 inside the first over. Joshua van Heerden (13 off 14) provided brief stability before being caught at 36 in over 4.5. Harmanjot Singh (39 off 35, 3 fours, 1 six) and Kyle Kleese (51 off 40, 2 fours, 2 sixes, SR 128) rebuilt with a 65-run stand for the 4th wicket, taking Germany from 36/3 to 101.
