Somerset won the toss and elected to bat, and Will Smeed set the tone immediately with a stunning 89 off 51 balls (5 fours, 6 sixes). His aggressive intent from ball one put Derbyshire on the back foot, and he was the centrepiece of Somerset’s powerplay assault.
